Forum Rules
The following behaviours go against the rules of this forum and can get you in trouble:
- Spamming:
spamming basically means making a post that, while not necessarily
off-topic, doesn't ultimately add anything to a discussion. If you have
nothing to say, we don't want to read it ("bumping" and posts
consisting only of a quote usually fall under this category). - Double-posting:
pretty self-explanatory. If, after making a post, you suddenly realise
there's something you forgot to say and for some reason you absolutely
can't wait until someone else replies, use the "Modify" button to edit
your post. Team leaders are exempt from this rule in their team threads. - Flaming/flame-baiting:
it goes without saying, but it's worth restating anyway. Respect other
members. Try your best to keep the tone of discussions as civil as
possible. (Exceptions can be made depending on the situation and the
moderators' judgement.) - Threadmancy: bringing dead topics back to life is a forbidden practice. Only braves and fools....
- Use of Engrish, Leet and other similar idioms:
in no way will we try to enforce perfect grammar/spelling on anyone,
but expressing yourself in an intelligible way is a minimum requirement
for anyone willing to be a part of this community. English is the
primary language of this board (exceptions can be made at the mods'
discretion). - Use of profanities:
most curse words are censored by default. Keep in mind that we'd like
to keep the forums as child-friendly as possible. Trying to get around
the filters by using modified versions of the filtered words will
possibly be punished even more severely. - Advertising:
we obviously recommend not to advertise or otherwise promote rival
sites. The Off-topic/Pokémon sections constitute an exception. However,
repeated, blatant advertising will still not go unpunished. - Posting of inappropriate images or use of them as avatars/signatures:
nude/sexually explicit/violent/racist/sexist pictures and otherwise
offensive content is not allowed in any of the sections of this forum.
(Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis, at the moderators'
discretion.) - Arguing over a mod's decision:
politely asking for further explanations is not against the rules;
calmly protesting against what is perceived as an unfair measure and
reporting it to an administrator is neither; over-reacting/ranting
might still be tolerated (not recommended, though); verbally attacking
a staff member or going on a crusade against him/her when it's apparent
you were dead wrong and deserved whatever you got... that's ban-worthy,
so think twice before crossing that line. - Trying to enforce the rules when moderators are momentarily absent/fail to notice a stupid post AKA mini-modding: This behaviour usually leads to more spam and arguments. Use the "Report to moderator" button instead.
- Trolling:
usually a sum or some variation of the above behaviours. What is
different is the intent. Trolls do it for the lulz. Or, as some argue,
for the thrill of being perma-banned. - Team advertising: Outside of the Teams section and your signature, team advertising must be kept to a minimum.
- Use of obscenely huge signatures:
as an indication, the size limit for the whole signature (all images
put together; not including text lines) is 600 x 315 pixels. - Banners made with mybannermaker.com are strictly forbidden: they're just that bad.
